A partner I would hate to be without.

When I look for a coach or mentor, there are a few I things I insist on:

• Someone who’s been through the fire – and come out stronger on the other side.
• Someone who’s been in my shoes.  I don’t need more theory and warm fuzzies.
• Someone who is making at least the kind of investment in themselves that they expect me to make in their services.  Is there anything more hypocritical than a coach or mentor who says she doesn’t need one herself?
